Shrimp cocktail with whiskey sauce, avocado and samphire

In this recipe cocktail does not mean a mix drink with liquor, but a classic shrimp cocktail with homemade whiskey sauce. The samphire and delicious MSC-certified brown shrimps make this golden oldie hip and happening all over again.

    Whisk the cream for the cocktail sauce. Add the rest of the sauce ingredients, season with salt and pepper, and set aside.

    Arrange the iceberg lettuce leaves in two small bowls and spread the avocado over. Mix the shrimp with the cocktail sauce and put the mixture onto the avocado.

    Garnish with samphire, sprinkle with paprika powder and serve with a part of lemon.

Ingredients

  • - few leaves of iceberg lettuce

  • - 1 avocado, chopped in cubes

  • - 100 g brown shrimp, peeled

  • - 25 g samphire

  • - 2 tsp smoked paprika powder

  • - grate and juice of 1 lemon

  • - To make the cocktail sauce:

  • - 2 tbsp cream

  • - 2 tbsp mayonnaise

  • - ½ tbsp tomato ketchup

  • - ½ tbsp whisky (optional)

  • - 1 tsp worcestershire sauce

  • - 1 tsp tabasco

  • - salt and pepper

  • 2 persons
