Smoked Atlantic salmon
Our smoked Atlantic salmon from Kvarøy is a model of sustainable innovation. On the small island just below the Arctic Circle, pioneer Alf farms Norway's tastiest salmon, if you ask us! Traditionally smoked for the delicious taste of smoked salmon. Perfect on toast, in salads or as a savory snack!

Third-generation salmon farmer Alf farms salmon with a vision for the future: “I want to continue for 50 years and pass the baton to the next generation.”
Are you pregnant? Then you can safely enjoy Fish Tales smoked Norwegian salmon, as long as you heat it thoroughly, for example in a casserole. This fits perfectly within the advice of the Dutch Nutrition Centre to eat fish twice a week during pregnancy. During your pregnancy, you can also enjoy our wild Sockeye salmon. For this type, it's better to eat the fish up to once a week and to heat it thoroughly.
Our Norwegian salmon is farmed by Alf and his team on the island of Kvarøy in Norway. Like elsewhere, the salmon here grow up in large sea pens, but at Kvarøy, they do things a little differently. The pens are less crowded, giving the salmon up to 50% more space than at other farms. This not only ensures happy fish but also the best quality salmon.
And then there's something else unique: the feed. Specially developed for Kvarøy, this is currently the most sustainable fish feed available. So you're not just choosing delicious salmon, but also an environmentally friendly and responsible choice! Want to know more about Kvarøy? Click here!
Atlantic salmon and Sockeye salmon are two completely different species, each with its own unique characteristics and flavor.
Atlantic salmon This type of salmon originally comes from European waters but is now almost always farmed. Our Atlantic salmon comes from a special farm in Kvarøy, Norway. It has a beautiful pink/orange color, a soft and slightly fattier texture, and a mild, creamy flavor. Due to its higher fat content, Atlantic salmon contains a bit less protein but offers more flavor.
Sockeye salmon Our Sockeye salmon is wild-caught in Alaska during the annual salmon fishing season in the summer. This salmon has a deep orange/red color, firm flesh, and a drier texture. Its flavor is intense and bold, making it a true favorite among connoisseurs who love pure, wild salmon.
You can immediately recognize Atlantic salmon from Norway: small, X-shaped black spots on its side and that beautiful red-pink fish meat. Our Norwegian salmon is carefully farmed and completely free from hormones and preventive antibiotics. When you cook with it, you serve only pure nutrients and a good portion of flavor.
Salmon is a fatty fish species and is packed with healthy omega-3 fatty acids like EPA and DHA. These fish oils are great for your brain and support a healthy cardiovascular system. No wonder the dietary advice is to eat fish at least once a week, preferably fatty fish like salmon.
