Turkish lahmacun with sardines
Discover a surprising twist on the classic Turkish lahmacun: topped with flavorful sardines and a spicy vegetable mix. This Turkish pizza combines savory fish, fresh vegetables, and herbs into an explosion of flavor—perfect for rolling up and enjoying right away. Easy, and a little different from what you're used to!
In this recipe, we use store-bought flatbread for convenience, but you can of course make your own Turkish pizza dough from scratch!
In a food processor, blend the red bell pepper, green bell pepper, tomato, garlic, red chili, and parsley until smooth. If the mixture is too dry, add a bit of olive oil from the sardines.
In a separate bowl, mix the sardines with tomato paste, paprika, and chili flakes, then mash with a fork. Combine the sardine mixture with the vegetable puree and stir well.
Preheat the oven to 150°C. Spread the mixture over the Turkish pizza dough and bake for 5 minutes.
Add the toppings, roll up the pizza, and serve immediately.
