This whole barbecue grilled plaice is very easy and together with the fresh watermelon it is the perfect meal on a warm summer evening. So fire up your BBQ and start cooking!
Preparation
1 Clean the fish when this is not done yet. Cut off the side and top fins and tail.
2 Roughly chop the garlic, the chili, the ginger and the coriander. Keep some coriander for decoration.
3 Put the chopped ingredients in a pestle set and add 2 table spoons of vegetable or sunflower oil. Add some salt. Mix this well.
4 Score the fish on both sides and rub the marinade in the scores.
5 Put the plaice in a BBQ rack for fish and put it on a hot BBQ. Turn around regularly.
6 Use 1 quarter of a watermelon and cut this in smaller pieces.
7 Rub the watermelon with 1 table spoon of vegetable oil and the juice of 1 lime. Put it on the BBQ and turn around regularly.
8 Serve the watermelon and the plaice on a plate and add a bit of lime zest, salt, coriander, the remaining oil and extra marinade. Enjoy!
