Fried anchovy tapas

Ingredients

  • 800 g. fresh, anchovies, heads removed and cleaned
  • 50 g. flour
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 lettuce, washed, leaves removed
  • 1 white onion, cut in rings
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • vegetable oil
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt and pepper

How to prepare

Quick, easy to make and nice to share as a snack: fried anchovy tapas!

Preparation

  • 1 Take a large plate or tray and cover the bottom with some flower, pepper and salt. Place the anchovies on top and put some more flower, pepper and salt over them.
  • 2 Before you start frying the anchovies take 2 cloves of garlic and cut them into fine slices.
  • 3 Heat up a pan with some vegetable oil and shake the excess flour off the anchovies.
  • 4 Fry the anchovies for 1,5-2 minutes per side until golden brown. Finally, add the garlic and fry until golden brown.
  • 5 When done frying place the anchovies on some kitchen paper to drain excess oil.
  • 6 Place the anchovies on a plate and put some extra virgin olive oil, pepper and salt on top. Serve with lettuce, onion and a lemon slice.
