- step 2 -Hammerfest

A thousand kilometers north of the Arctic Circle lies the northernmost city in the world: Hammerfest. The city has only about 10,000 inhabitants, and its main sources of income are connected to either oil, gas, or fish. Although not many people live in Hammerfest, the city has an international atmosphere with connections to people all over the world.

The northernmost city in the world

On Norway’s northern coast, winter lasts from October to May, with weather ranging from extreme storms to clear winter nights where the Northern Lights (Aurora) dance across the sky. Hammerfest is a paradise on Earth for anyone who loves being outdoors in all kinds of weather.
