Fried anchovy tapas

Quick, easy to make and nice to share as a snack: fried anchovy tapas!

    Take a large plate or tray and cover the bottom with some flower, pepper and salt. Place the anchovies on top and put some more flower, pepper and salt over them.

    Before you start frying the anchovies take 2 cloves of garlic and cut them into fine slices.

    Heat up a pan with some vegetable oil and shake the excess flour off the anchovies.

    Fry the anchovies for 1,5-2 minutes per side until golden brown. Finally, add the garlic and fry until golden brown.

    When done frying place the anchovies on some kitchen paper to drain excess oil.

    Place the anchovies on a plate and put some extra virgin olive oil, pepper and salt on top. Serve with lettuce, onion and a lemon slice.

  • - 800 g. fresh, anchovies, heads removed and cleaned

  • - 50 g. flour

  • - 2 cloves of garlic

  • - 1 lettuce, washed, leaves removed

  • - 1 white onion, cut in rings

  • - 2 garlic cloves

  • - vegetable oil

  • - extra virgin olive oil
